How Do I Get My Toilet To Give A More Powerful Flush?

Both my upstairs toilets give really weak flushes. I have to hold the handle down until it drains or else it wont flush completely. They are the only ones in my house that do that. My downstairs toilet is a beast and will roar to life with a mere tap of the handle. How do I get my other toilets to do that too?

Water pressure won`t have anything to do with it.
No matter how Fast the tank fills, it will only have as much water as it holds.
Try raising the water line in your tank.
Most have 2 fill lines, bend (gently) the float arm up a little to set it to just below the overfill pipe.
Unfortunately for us, they changed the design of standard tanks some Time ago for water conservation.
Believe it or not, people were putting bricks etc. in their tanks to “spoof” the toilet into thinking it was full
The older toilets are Wonderful. Without the bricks (:>
I myself am looking for a New Old Stock Supply house.
Some people were lucky enough to buy out stores that were going out of business several years ago, car parts, plumbing supplies, well, anything you can think of.
They call these parts etc. NOS.
    Good Luck with it!

If your toilets were manufactured in the 80’s and maybe even early 90’s they’re the early low water usage type and no matter what you do short of replacing them you’re not going to get a good flush. It sounds to me like this might be the case and your downstairs toilet has been replaced at some point. Without replacing them getting your tank as full as possible is your only other solution. Your water pressure for the flush comes from the tank – water pressure from the main plumbing fills the tank – and you’re most likely at the mercy of it’s capacity.
They have come out with some new low flow toilets that have “jet action” and some others that are more efficient. I just remodeled our downstairs bath and installed a new toilet that will flush a dead cat. It’s great!! Pashooooosh!!!

adjust the pressure ion the toilet…
    or
kohler has a powerflush toilet that came out recently.
you can even get a pressure assist toilet like the ones that they use in commercial blds. the only thing about those is that they are really loud. :)
    hope this helps!!
