What Can Remove Hair From Bathroom Sink?

The water in my bathroom sink will not drain properly and I have tried drain-o. That did not solve the problem so I took a wire close hanger and found lots of dyed hair( nasty!!!). What can I use to remove this blockage
It may not be just the hair blocking the drain. Soap residues, hard water deposits and body oils can cause the hair to lodge in the pipes. The BEST, least expensive and environmentally safe solution would be to pour baking soda down the drain followed by white vinegar. Let it sit for about 30 min and flush with hot water. Its safe for all pipes. I do that about once monthly and have eliminated my slow drains. Before I discovered this solution, I purchased a drain cleaning device from Wal-mart that is about 2 ft long, made of flexible plastic, with serrated edges. You just shove it down in the drain and pull it back by the loop on the end. Up comes the disgusting hair, string or whatever. After a few of those sights, I think you’ll prefer the preventive baking soda/vinegar routine.
I agree with using regular bleach. Also for other stoppages go to the hardware store and get the air pressure can. That works better than drano or any other type acidic drain cleaner.
I discovered accidentally that straight bleach will dissolve hair to nothing. lol—poured bleach into a cup one day to soak my brushes & combs–forgot to dillute it with water. later when I went to go clean the hair out of them—there wasn’t any.
Depending on your plumbing a coathanger could damage and old and worn metal p-trap (the curved pipe under the sink).. It is very simple to remove this piece. If it is PVC (plastic) it shouldn’t be much more than hand tight on 2 fittings. Place a pan underneath to catch the water during removal. Dump the water out of it and clean it. Then you can use a coathanger to try to punch out the hair and debris from the sink drain. Also make a small hook on the end of the coathanger and probe the pipe going into the wall before reinstalling the p-trap. Most hair is caught on the drain pop-up lever. This is also easily removed . It is in the pipe between the sink drain and the p-trap. If you find no blockage in any of these areas there are other diys ideas but this is usually the entire problem and is so simple to cure.
If you didn’t get it all with the clothe hanger, you may need to call a plumber.
Put a small bucket under the sink and remove the trap. With a pair of pliers remove small nut and pull out the drain stopper rod, now pull the stopper out from the top. Push the hair ball down into the bucket and replace parts.
