A Bathroom With Ivory Countertops And Cabinets But Baseboards And Door Are White, What Color Should Toilet Be?
Posted in Bathroom Cabinets on 08. Jul, 2009
We renovated our Powder room (Washroom) and had to replace the toilet. The sink with the countertop is ivory it, has some little white designs in it. My question is: ” Is it acceptable to install a white toilet? The doors and baseboards are white and the wall color is taupe. Please, I need advice, it,s a very nice victorian style toilet but it only comes in white, and most of the toilets are white in the stores.

Since you say it’s a powder room it likely doesn’t contain a shower or bath. In that case, what colour is the sink?? If it’s ivory, then match the toilet to it. If you have fallen in love with the white victorian style – get it (It will go lovely with taupe walls) and for a relatively low cost you could replace your sink with a white one if necessary.
By all means, install a white toilet.
All porcelain (tub, toilet, etc) should be of the same color. If you put a white toilet in there, the sink will look dirty, not ivory.
You can find ivory toilets… just keep looking. And don’t rely on what you see in the stores. Ask the salesperson to look at catalogues because in the store, they only keep what sells the most. But you will find what you need though you may have to order it.
Considering the importance of your decor remaining in sync with the Victorian style, I’d have the white toilet you want painted to match the sink color. Look in you yellow pages for places that do this.
